John Stephen Chrzanowski, a resident of Pagosa Springs, CO, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 14th, 2022.
Born on September 26th, 1941, and raised in Linden, NJ, John was the son of Helen (nee Wislous) and Walter Chrzanowski. He was a 30 year resident of Roselle Park, NJ.
John is survived by his wife Etelina Chrzanowski, daughter Lexi Jaluria, sons Conrad, John, and Eric, sister Loretta Donatiello, cousin Betty Colavito, granddaughter Rachel, and grandsons Matthew, Vyan, Nalin, Zev, and Caleb.
An athlete and adventurer throughout his life, John skied the world over with many friends, was a black belt in karate, rafted the Colorado River, climbed and skied Mt. Washington, NH. In his 60s and 70s, he regularly rode a motorcycle throughout the Rocky Mountain western states and scuba dived in the Cayman Islands. An electrician by trade, John successfully ran his own electrical business, Alpine Electric (later ABEL Electric), for 50 years. He enjoyed joking, laughing, dancing, debating politics, but most of all enjoyed lovingly passing on the lessons he learned and wisdom he gained throughout his life to his children.
John set many examples, but perhaps his greatest was to not be held back by adversity and to look forward with faith to the following day.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, March 27th, 2022 from 2pm to 5pm at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901.

That is very sad. John and my brother Dick Trivane saved me at a Linden High dance when I was mugged by a bunch of greasers from Elizabeth NJ . They had me on the ground and all of a sudden they were being pulled off of me. Boy was I happy to see John and my brother grabbing these guys by their necks one per hand and pulling them off. I never forgot that incident and told that story many times. I thought that he was a cool guy. He had this air about himself. He also had a great physique and a cool haircut. According to his obit he was a man´s man. I send the family my deepest sympathies. Ron Trivane Annapolis MD.
