John A. Clemins

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it and only God knows why....
John Anderson Clemins, 67, of Candor, NY passed away with his family at his side on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. John was born on August 29, 1955 in Beckley, West Virginia a son of the late Anderson Mayo and Hazel Gump. Known as "Big Chief" by his friends and co-workers at EE Root & Sons, John was employed as a foreman there for 23 years. A talented craftsman, John was a knowledgeable mason and carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking and created many memento chests and clocks for his family. John will be remembered as being a big teddy bear and loved to be surrounded by his family. He loved to spend time outdoors and could often be found tending to his lawn on his riding mower.
John will be greatly missed by his loving wife Wanda; his children: Millie Clemins (Keith), Ronald (Julia) Cornell, Heather Clemins (Brandon Stone) Lacey (Jake) Rorick, Lucas Somers, William (Brianna) Somers, Cheyenne (Tyler) Johnson, Suze Clemins, Anthony Clemins Jeremy Avery; his grandchildren: Megan, Emma, Christopher, Amber, John, Storm, Stephanie, Jessica, Wyatt, Kash, Aurora, Gabriel, Hailey, Evelyn, Kjelbi, Zane, Libby, Marshall, JJ and Paizley; a great granddaughter Nova; his father-in-law: Ronald Blinn; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Juanita Avery, Mark Blinn, Michael (Heather) Blinn, Teressa Halstead, Monica (Shawn) Blinn-Bolton. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
John was welcomed into heaven by his parents; his siblings; Steven R. Clemins; Millie Clemins, Paulette Nichols, Brenda Russell, Fred Gump; Little John Gump and Rick Gump; nephews Joey Gump and Steven Clemins.
