John Daniel Cochran, Jr.
Of Indianapolis, IN passed away on May 14, 2024. Son of John and Doris Cochran, John was born in Washington DC, April 18, 1945. He is a graduate of Park School in Indianapolis, Wabash College and University of Louisville School of Law. He practiced law for 40 years and retired in 2010.
John was an enthusiastic amateur photographer, tennis and paddle ball player, cyclist, as well as an avid reader. As a child, he enjoyed his summers in Texas, climbing the foothills of the Rockies; and throughout his adult life, he spent his summers in Michigan, enjoying water sports and tennis.
John married Elizabeth Skinner Cochran in 1968. John was a loving husband and father to Elizabeth Cochran Bzezinski, John Daniel Cochran, III, and a devoted grandfather to his four grandchildren: Ashley Elizabeth Ullyot, Anne Kathryn Ullyot, Reece Patrick Ullyot and Jackson Eli Cochran. John had three siblings, Thomas Ray Cochran (deceased), David Lee Cochran and Celinda Louise Cochran.
John’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 6050 N Meridian St, Indianapolis on Friday, May 17 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The American Cancer Society or Wabash College.
