Conroy, 72, of Binghamton, New York, passed away on October 2, 2025, after a brave battle with complications from cancer and heart disease. John lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with a spirit that touched the hearts of many.
Born on March 25, 1953, John was the beloved son of Raymond and Shirley Conroy. He is predeceased by his parents, along with his sister, Marie Conroy, and his step-daughter, Renee McKane, as well as his mother-in-law, Florencia Miller.
John is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Conroy, who was his partner through thick and thin. He leaves behind a loving family including step-children Michele Howard and Matthew (Shannon) McKane, and cherished step-grandchildren Kaiden, Tori, and Marissa. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings: Linda (Ron) Kafchinski, Gary (Bridget) Conroy, Nancy (Gary) Desko, Bob (Sharon) Conroy, Jerry (Anita) Conroy, and Teri (Rich) Conte, along with numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
John was a passionate sports fan, proudly supporting the New York Giants and New York Yankees. His enthusiasm was contagious, often shared with family and friends as they gathered to cheer for their favorite teams. An outdoor enthusiast at heart, John's true joy came from hunting; the woods were his sanctuary, where he felt most alive. Known as a gentle giant, John had an innate ability to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, leaving a legacy of kindness and generosity.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 12:00 pm, Thursday October 9, 2025 at Saint Vincent De Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, 465 Clubhouse Rd, Vestal, NY 13850. Family will receive friends from 10:30 am until time of Mass. Family and friends are invited to join together to reflect on the wonderful memories shared and to pay tribute to a remarkable man who gave so much to those around him.
In times of sorrow, let us remember John for the love he shared and the joys he brought into our lives. May his spirit continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
