John N. “Big John” Crawford, 74, a lifelong resident of Sebring, passed away on October 13, 2025, at his residence.He was born in Arcadia, Florida, to Horace and Grace Tucker Crawford. A graduate of Sebring High School, Big John owned and operated Big John’s Garage for many years.He was an avid golfer and a proud member of the Sun N Lake Golf Club. He was a member of the Rotary and Jaycee's clubs as well as A lifelong dart player, he served as captain of the State All-Star Team and as a board member of the Highlands County Dart Association. Beyond darts and golf, Big John was a hunter, a fisherman, and a poet. He also gave back to his community through years of coaching women’s softball, T-ball, and baseball, and by umpiring and volunteering his time in countless ways.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Irwin; sisters, Nora Ruth and Jenna Lee; and daughter, Carrie.He is survived by his wife, Terry; son, Shaune of Sebring; stepchildren, Jason and Trisha; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 22, at 10:00 a.m., with the service commencing at 11:00 a.m. at Morris Funeral Chapel, 307 S. Commerce Avenue, Sebring, Florida. Contributions may be made to Friendship Cemetery, 4074 John Carlton Road, Zolfo Springs, Florida 33890.
