Melody Lynn Haywood, 63 of Lake Placid, Florida passed away July 23 2025. She was born August 28, 1961 at Walker Memorial Hospital in Avon Park, FL.
She was a Sebring High School class of 79 graduate. Melody started work for the Highlands County Tax Collector her senior year and retired from there in 2019. She was a Christian.
Melody was preceded in death by her parents G.T. and Francis Haywood, her brother Earl Haywood (Joy) of West Palm Beach FL. and long time life partner Dillon Farmer of Lake Placid FL. She's survived by her brother Wendell Haywood (Joyce) of Sebring FL; her nieces Sara Pacheco (Joel) and Beegee Tagliaferri of Pennsylvania; her nephews Seth Haywood (Melissa) of Sebring FL and Ron Haywood (Sue) of Port St. Lucie FL. She was Aunt Mel to many more, she was God mother to Makayla and Joshua Patterson of Lake Placid FL and many great niece's.
The family will announce a celebration of life in a few weeks. No flowers please her request is memorial contributions to either Moffitt Cancer Center or Highlands County Humane Society.
