John Darren Crosby, 57, of Charlotte passed away May 17, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Apex, NC on December 31, 1965 to Anna Kimble Sherrill and the late Carol Crosby. Darren was the owner of Crossmark Roofing Solutions. He loved airplanes and dreamed of becoming a pilot someday. He was also a member of the Airport Planning Commission. Darren was passionate about making the community a better place. In his spare time, Darren enjoyed hunting golf balls, war history, gardening, the beach, and fishing. Above all, Darren loved his family. He enjoyed going out to dinner with them. His family will remember him as the most wise, hard working, family man. He always cared for others and took care of others before caring for himself. He will be truly missed.
In addition to his mother, Anna Sherrill and husband Allen, Darren is also survived by his fiance, Tonya Pressley; children, Meghan Tench and husband Mikey, Devin Crosby, Katelyn Polischak and husband Jonathan, and Dalton Crosby; his fiance's children that considered him their stepfather, Heather Prezioso and son Kaleb and Hunter and Makayla Cook and son little Hunter; brother, Andrew Crosby; stepbrothers, Daniel Sherrill and Jason Sherrill and wife Desiree; grandchildren, Nadia and Lydia; nephews, Ryan, Tyler, and Ryder; and niece, Ava.
A Memorial service to celebrate Darren's life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Real Life Church, 15434 Lucia Riverbend Hwy, Stanley, NC 28164, with Pastor Mike Davis officiating. Visitation will follow after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Real Life Church, 15434 Lucia Riverbend Hwy, Stanley, NC 28164.
