John Leroy Crumbaugh, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a months-long battle with kidney disease.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
John is survived by his two sons, Jeff (Jen) Crumbaugh of Frisco, TX, and Corey (Bridget) Crumbaugh of Celina, TX; seven grandchildren: McKenna and Landyn Crumbaugh, Ava and Noah Klein, and Remington, Montana, and Sarah Crumbaugh; one brother; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Lois, whom he married on October 8, 1966.
John, a Navy veteran, led by example, instilling discipline and a strong work ethic in those around him. He cherished time with family and friends, fishing, and soaking up the sun. His presence and values will be deeply missed.
Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
