John E. Cunningham

John E. Cunningham, 69, passed away on March 13, 2026, at his home in Newport, Pennsylvania. John was the former owner of River Front Campground in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. He and his family owned and operated the campground, boat rental and bait shop for over 45 years.

John is survived by his wife of 32 years, Corinne, and his sisters, Patricia Miller (Vance), Martha Stoak (Albert) and Teresa Brown, along with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Cunningham and mother, Elinor Cunningham.

John was a 20-year member of the Sons of the American Legion (SAL), Duncannon, American Legion Post 340 and was the current Finance officer, working in honor of his father, Leroy Cunningham, an Army Veteran, who was a multiple Purple Heart recipient. John was also a member of the Duncannon VFW and Hunters Valley Sportsmen Association.

Donations in his honor should be made to Wreaths Across America, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, or the Fishing Assist Foundation (run by Dave Grow, Fishassist.org).

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
