John Robert Davis II, born January 18, 1980, was sent to his eternal home on February 20, 2025 after a long and difficult journey.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, John grew up in Elm Grove and spent some summers in Florida with his father. John attended Parkway High School and worked most of his career as a dental technician. John had a bright smile and brought light into many lives with his infectious laughter, empathy and willingness to help others. He spent many years mentoring a youth group at Believer's Worship Center, where he was rooted in faith and knew the Bible front to back, quoting scripture and teaching lessons along the way. John had strong friendships, whether he grew up with you, or he took you in along the way, that he would stand up for wherever he went. He never met a stranger.
While John spent his later years navigating the consequences of some of his choices, there was always a part of him that longed for reconciliation and healing. He often expressed regret for the pain caused to those around him and, in the end, made efforts to seek peace.
John is survived by his three children, Jay Gray (wife Kyley), twin daughters, Stella and Presley Davis; Two grandchildren Ansley and Beckham; his loving mother, Linda Davis; three sisters, Diana Kelly, Kay Kelly and Karen Becknal; one brother Howard Kelly; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom remember him for the good he brought into the world.
John is preceded in death by his father, John Robert Davis and his grandparents.
A memorial service will be held on March 8, 2025, 10am, at the Simple Church (130 Boardwalk Blvd, Bossier City, LA), where friends and family are invited to reflect on John's life, the lessons learned, and the hope that even in the end, there is room for forgiveness.
Rest in peace, John Robert. You will be remembered for all the ways you touched lives.
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" - John 8:36
