John W. Davis, 87, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 1:58 am, Monday, December 29, 2025, at 1019 Belle's Place in Wabash. He was born on July 24, 1938, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to Edwin Morris "Jack" and Virginia Ellen (Spoon) Davis.
John was a 1956 graduate of Mooresville High School, received his bachelors degree from Ball State University, and his masters from Indiana University. He married Mary Kathleen Watson in Fort Wayne, Indiana on August 3, 1963; she preceeded him in death on August 8, 2024. John was a teacher at White's Residential and Family Services from 1974 – 1990. He was a member of the Wabash Friends Church and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by three children, Stephanie "Taffy" (Kevin) Flynn of Springboro, Ohio, Judith "Jodie" (Cory) Arendt of Huntington Beach, California, and Michael "Mike" (Angela) Davis of Lafayette, Indiana; five grandchildren, Alexandra (Tyler) Whitt of Louisville, Kentucky, Alivia Davis of Lafayette, Indiana, Taylor (Amir) Farsakh of Greenville, South Carolina, Sophia Arendt and Garrett Arendt, both of Huntington Beach, California; sister-in-law, Sandy Davis of Wabash; and cousins, Fred (Mary) Davis of Asheboro, North Carolina, and Marcia Kottkamp of Clayton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Kathleen Davis, and his brother, Richard Davis.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Burial will be in Whitelick Cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana. Friends may call 12-2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Wabash Friends Church.
