Kelli Day Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Jan. 21, 2026.
Kelli Jo (Norton) Day, 47, longtime Mooresville resident, passed away after a lengthy hospital stay on January 20, 2026. Kelli was born on February 4, 1978, in Indianapolis, to Dennis and Connie (Harris) Norton. In addition to her parents, Kelli is survived by her husband, Todd Day.

Kelli graduated from Mooresville High School in 1996. While raising her children, she pursued her nursing degree from the IU School of Nursing, graduating in 2013. Kelli was employed by Dermatology Incorporated at IU West Hospital and more recently as a registered nurse at Franciscan Hospital. Kelli's intelligence, drive, and determination were all instrumental in her successful completion of her nursing education and subsequent successful career.

In her free time, Kelli loved the outdoors (except for spiders) and always looked forward to mushroom hunting every season with Todd. She enjoyed crafts, especially creating pottery items. She was an avid IU basketball fan, and like many others, was very proud of the Hoosiers football season this year. Her favorite NFL team was the New Orleans Saints. Kelli loved to cook for family and friends, and pulled pork was her specialty. Above all, Kelli was strongly devoted to her family. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Kelli will be fondly remembered for her outgoing personality and her strong desire to help those in need.

Kelli was preceded in death by a stepson, Tyler Day.

Survivors include her husband, Todd Day; parents, Dennis and Connie Norton; children, Isaac Frechette, Anee Quintero, and Harper Houchens; brother, Brian Norton; grandchildren, Leilani Quintero, Luciano Quintero, and Weslie Frechette; stepchildren, Bailey, Jacob, Landon, and Bowen Day; loyal canine companions, Gunner, George, and Elton.

Friends and family will gather to remember, honor, and celebrate the life of Kelli Jo Norton Day on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with burial in White Lick Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Faull will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Churches in Mission or to the Morgan County Humane Society. Visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.

I am so very sad to hear this. She and I were pregnant at the same time with both our firstborn and second born children. We lived just 5 doors down from each other. I have many memories of those days. I have pictures somewhere of both of our oldest dressed up and trick or treating together and then at each other's birthday parties. We lost touch for many, many years (over 20 years). Then, out of nowhere, when I was going through a very hard time a couple of years ago, out of the blue she messaged me on facebook to give her a call. She let me know she was praying for me. She was a good listener and i appreciated her reaching out so much more than she knew. I so wish I would have set up a day to go to lunch with her or something. Many prayers go out to her family and friends. She was a special person, for sure.

My memories of Kelli are wonderful ones. We went to school together and played lots of basketball together. Her parents were always so supportive of all of us. You will be remembered always as so kind to everyone.

My memories of Kelly are as a little girl! She was an adorable little girl that I got to see grow up. Her parents adored her as did we. About a month ago out of the blue Kelly called and we spoke multiple times. We got to catch up and I will forever cherish those calls. My heart goes out to Connie, Dennis, her children, brother Brian and husband.
