Charles Davis Obituary

Charles William "Bill" Davis, 91, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on January 25, 2026, at Northview Health and Living. Born on November 5, 1934, in Sims, Illinois, Bill was the loving son of Marion and Ruby (Land) Davis.

After graduating from Anderson High School, Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force, before embarking on a fulfilling career as an engineer at Delco Remy, a division of General Motors. For 30 years, he called Arizona home, where he embraced life as a park ranger, enjoying the great outdoors and making lasting memories. He was known to all the campers as "Ranger Bill".

Bill was a true car enthusiast, with a special fondness for his 1958 white Corvette and his cherished Model A. Whether he was at car shows or parades, he loved showing off his prized rides. An avid Chicago Bears fan and a lover of auto racing, he filled his life with the excitement of the game. Life wasn't just about cars for Bill; he enjoyed playing softball in Anderson and was known for his fun-loving spirit. A social butterfly, he could often be found sharing a good margarita with friends and occasionally winning awards in competitive walking. Family members kept a close eye on him at the casino, where his knack for accidentally hitting the max button brought plenty of laughs.

Bill is survived by his children, Kurt (Laurie) Davis, Keli Grigsby, and Amy (Frank) McConnell; Grandchildren, Max, Alex (Autumn), Kayce, Kerry, Jessica, Molly (Alex), and Lucy (Adam). He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Alice Anderson, and his grandson, Eric McConnell.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 from Noon - 1:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.

A funeral service celebrating Bill's life will follow visitation starting at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Cable officiating. Burial will conclude services at St. Mary's Cemetery with military honors performed by the United States Airforce assisted by the Daleville American Legion.
