Dear Family,
I am sorry for all that you are going through. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy over your loss. We can understand why death is called an "Enemy" in the Bible, yet we can have hope. God's purpose to bring back our loved ones into a restored paradise by means of that Heavenly Kingdom we pray for is real. Revelation 21:3,4 says that even "Death will be no more." Sincerely Yours,

I knew John for a short time when our sons played little league baseball together. He was always in good spirit and helping the kids any way he could. My wife cared for John through his second battle on dialysis. The little time we knew him was happy and friendly. John was a great man and will be missed deeply by our family.

I hadn"t seen JOHN since I retired from the MFD but I can remember him working at station 6. We would play basketball in back and when he made a shot he would beam all over. I am glad to have known him and I know we all will miss him.

John was a blessing to his dialysis comrades. He showed them and the rest of Arizona how perseverance, tenacity and a great sense of humor can yield a possitive attitude that transcends chronic illness. He was a role model to every AZ dialysis patient and an inspiration to his health care providers. Your memory will inspire each health care provider to give more and each patient to smile and have more fun more often. You now join your dialysis buddy Ben and I hope you both conitnue to laugh and joke around eating lots of bananas, oranges, ice cream and diet cokes!

Dialysis was a better place because of you. Eric and I loved chatting with you. It was so nice to come in and see you smiling. Dialysis isn't always the "funnest" place to be, but your smile always lit up the room. You were an amazing person, and served the community selflessly. Though I had not seen John in the years since he started a family, my memories of the times we spent as kids at Mesa Jr. High and after High School will always be with me. We lived a half a block away from each other in the late 1970's, and rode our bikes to and from school together every day. So many thoughts flood my mind and bring a smile to my heart, like going to see the Thunderbirds at Williams Air Force Base (1977!), 9th grade wrestling, shooting pool in Tempe, and taking in a couple of REO Speedwagon concerts in the early '80's, to name just a few. John was a faithful friend, and earned every accolade that comes his way. You touched many lives, and I'm a better human for having shared a friendship with you. May God grant you restful peace, and dry the tears of those of us left behind to ponder why you were taken so soon.

WOW! Isn't it just fascinating how one life can touch so many?!? I had the opportunity to know John through Mesa's Citizen Corps Council, what a nice, caring gentleman! I sat next to John often at dialysis every Monday, Wed, and Friday. He always said hello and goodbye to everyone who passed by him and would always be making jokes about me getting married. He will be missed by so many people but he flew up to heaven on the wings of an angel for sure! See ya John!
