John F. Demus, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Ann (Wallace) Demus for 55 years. Born in Providence, John was the son of the late William E. Demus and Margaret J. (Mulvey) Demus. He is survived by his loving children John F. Demus, Maureen Connelly and her husband Dr. Timothy Connelly, and Lisa McMahon. John was the devoted grandfather of Michael, Mary, Ann Marie, Yulia and Patrick; as well as the great-grandfather of John Michael, Wesley, Sasha and Mila.
John honorably served his nation in the United States Army. He went on to study at Roger Williams University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduating, he found a career working at ITT Grinell for 30 years.
John was a proud member of the Men of St. Joseph, St. Rose & Clement chapter, as well as the East Greenwich Art Club where he made many friends. Among his other accomplishments, John was also a proud past President of the Warwick Figure Skaters. During his earlier years, he loved spending summers down at Matunuck. Above all, he loved and cherished his family who will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home; 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am on Monday, March 17, in St. Rose & Clement Church, 111 Long St, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at Church.
