Johnny "John" Oscar Dennison was born on December 21, 1952, and entered eternal life on September 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Mary Harrison Dennison. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Susan Haislip Dennison; his children, Lauren (Ryan) McDonald, Lenae (Kevin) Scott, and Jonathan (Kelly) Dennison; and his beloved grandchildren: Anna Kate, Will, Jackson, Bo, Georgia, John Grayson, Hayes, and Ella Rose.
John was born in Lake City, Florida, where his father worked as a carpenter before moving the family to the Carolinas in search of opportunity and the experience of all four seasons. A graduate of Winthrop University with a degree in Chemistry, John dedicated his career to the manufacturing industry, serving in management roles across several companies throughout the Carolinas.
John’s life was most clearly defined by his unwavering faith and service to others. A pillar of Saint Andrew's Road Church of Christ, he served faithfully as an elder for 30+ years. His leadership was marked by humility, compassion, and a deep desire to glorify God in all things.
He built his life on a foundation of love for his Heavenly Father, was a devoted and loving husband to Susan, and together they raised their children in the Lord. John’s greatest joy was serving — whether it was guiding his family, mentoring others, or leading his church community with grace and strength.
John Dennison will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. His legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire for generations to come.
