John Luke DiFulco, Sr. passed away at his residence in Mandeville, LA on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the age of 91. He was born in New Orleans, LA on January 8, 1933 to the late Virginia Digiovanni DiFulco and Lucas DiFulco. John was a retired Locomotive Engineer and served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the VFW Post 8290 in Lacombe, LA; The Happy Hour Senior Citizens Club; United Transportation Union; and a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Mandeville, LA. He loved Fishing, Hunting, Travelling and Vegetable Gardening. He enjoyed his trips to the Casino and playing Bingo.
John was the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Claire Rita Colwart DiFulco. Loving father of Virginia Lemoine (Carl), Anita Kliebert (Richard), John L. DiFulco, Jr. (Patricia), Anthony DiFulco, Sr. (Donna), James DiFulco (Tessie) and Robert DiFulco (Kim). Brother of the late Lukenia DiFulco Smith, Lena DiFulco Stabile, Paul DiFulco, Jerome DiFulco, Carlo DiFulco and Michael John DiFulco. Also survived by his adorable 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to The Windsor Senior Living Community staff and personnel; Interim Hospice Care; and special friend and caregiver, Sharon Facianne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., in New Orleans, La. 70124 on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will take place following the mass at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. The family invites you to share your thoughts, memories and condolences at www.lakelawnmetairie.com
