John M. Doto Jr, age 57 of Wakefield passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved, HOCKEY.
He was born in Malden on January 17, 1968, and was the son of John Sr. and Margorie (Wells) Doto.
He spent his entire life on the ice. A talented goalie who got the honor to play at the Olympic training center in Colorado Springs. He began his coaching career at Wakefield High where he graduated from in 1986. He also coached at Austin Prep in Reading and for the last three years, he coached at St Johns Prep. John or “Dotes” was also a member of the Crystal Community Club where he leaves behind many friends who will miss him terribly.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his sister Charlene Gentile of Londonderry, NH and her husband Darin. Beloved uncle to Justin Doto of Londonderry NH. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins who are deeply saddened by his passing.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday August 19 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Wednesday August 20 at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
