John L. Doty, 58, of Sorento, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on October 22, 1967, in Centerville, IL to John D. and Virginia (nee Jones) Doty.
John was an over the road truck driver, Lazy Day Trucking. He was a loving father and grandfather. John loved working on cars and joking around. He was always lending a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his father John.
John is survived by his mother, Virginia Doty, Sorento, IL; children, Danielle Doty, Christopher Doty, John Doty, Jeff French, Makenzze Johnson, Izabelle Johnson, Trinity Johnson; daughters-in-law, Jodie Doty, Samantha North; brothers, Ronald (Shelley) Doty, James (Desiree) Doty, grandchildren, Hunter, Grayson, Jaxon, Haylee, Hazel; nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
Visitation: Monday, December 29, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:45 am, at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL
Service: Monday, December 29, 2025, 12:00 pm, at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL
Interment: Brown Cemetery, Pocahontas, IL
