Gary D. Wiesemeyer, 69, of Pocahontas, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at his home in Pocahontas, IL.

He was born on August 28, 1955, in Highland, IL, to Dale and Sara (nee Geries) Wiesemeyer. He married Tammy Haberer on October 14, 2023.

Gary graduated from Highland High School in 1973. Not long after, he began his career at Basler Electric, where he worked in maintenance and as a machinist for 44 years, retiring in 2017.

Gary loved life outdoors—whether it was casting a line while fishing, heading out on a hunt, or frying up his catch to share at one of his famous fish frys. He had a passion for working on cars and motorcycles, and his green thumb kept his garden thriving. But more than anything, Gary cherished time with his grandchildren, making memories that will be treasured forever.

To know Gary was to know someone truly one of a kind—steady, genuine, and always willing to lend a hand. His laughter, stories, and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to call him family and friend.

He is preceded in death by his father, Dale Lavern Wiesemeyer; grandparents; aunts & uncles.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Wiesemeyer; mother, Sara Jane Wiesemeyer; children, Richard Dean (Rochell) Sackett, Jennifer Kay (Dennis) Sturgeon, Heather Renee (John) Clugston, Amanda Nicole (Philip) Winkler; step-children, Ronny Louis Wick, Amanda Lynn (Jakob Jones) Walker; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings; Gerry Dale (Judy) Wiesemeyer, GayLynn (Ron) Whiteside; aunt; Elsie Marie Nungessen; numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Memorials may be made to the Wiesemeyer Family.
