On January 6, 2025, in his hundredth year of life, John Frank Eccles moved to heaven. Frank was born on January 22, 1925, in Wilmette, IL to John and Emma Eccles. He was married to Susanne Love Atwater for 53 joyous years.
Frank proudly served in the US Navy during World War II as a pilot. He worked at Butler Paper in Park Ridge, IL and later moved to Neenah, WI where he worked at Pacon Corporation for 22 years before he started American Paper Converters.
Frank loved playing golf, especially at the Butte des Morts Country Club in Appleton, WI. He enjoyed mint chocolate chip ice cream almost as much as he looked forward to attending church on Sunday. He played a mean hand of bridge.
Frank is survived by his three children, Thomas, Jane, and David Eccles, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren whom he served as a pillar of strength with love and compassion. Frank was excited to reunite with his parents and wife Sue and see Jesus in heaven.
The family would like to thank the caretakers and residents of Renaissance by Rennes in De Pere, WI for their love and kindness towards Frank.
Family and friends may share happy memories of Frank at his Celebration of Life ceremony from 9:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere, WI. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Appleton Alliance Church.

Back in July of 2022, I visited Dave in DePere, yet my goal was to see
Uncle Frank! It had been a long time yet my memorizes of Uncle Frank
returned as he greeted me with his handshake and warm smile. We looked at old yearbooks from New Trier highschool (1943) and my parents wedding pictures (1950), the 'Twins' Susie & Sodie were bridesmaids.
He told the story how he met Susan and their decision to marry after WWII and their departure from IL to Wisconsin. Our time went so fast
and I'll always cherish those new memorizes with Uncle Frank. He walked us to the elevator and we shook hands one more time and he thanked me for coming! I'm the thankful one!!

Peace to Tom, Jane, and David knowing that he's home with His savior,
Jesus Christ.
