Egnot, John W., 79, Cresson, went to be with his heavenly family on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Born May 23, 1945, Uniontown, Fayette Co., son of the late John P. and Anne (Csmos) Egnot. John was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by wife, Susan M. (Schenk) and son, John W. Egnot Jr. and wife Kristi of McKinney, TX. John was proceeded in death by brothers, Robert and Gregory. John began his career in Washington, D.C., in the 1960s and spent the majority of it in the banking and brokerage industries in Cambria County. A former member of the Virginia Air National Guard, John was very active in the community as a former Jaycee, Junior Achievement instructor, president of the Ebensburg Kiwanis Club, member of the American Legion, and held positions with the Ebensburg Area Youth League and the Boy Scouts. John was a very active supporter of Saint Francis University as a past president and life member of the Stokes Club, member of the board of trustees and a diehard Red Flash basketball fan. He was an avid golfer and longtime loyal fan of the Washington Redskins, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. John’s family and friends will remember him best for his love of Sunday polkas, beach music, and a needling sense of humor that he carried through his final days. At John’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation. A private funeral service and burial will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Loretto American Legion Post 748 Memorial Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson. Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com.
