John Eric Galloway Sr., a life-long Beacon resident, passed away suddenly at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY on May 3, 2024 at the age of 53. He was born on May 27, 1970 in Beacon, NY, son of the late Joan M. Galloway. John attended Beacon City Schools, and graduated from Beacon High School, class of 1987.
John worked of over 8-years as a custodial in the Wappinger Central School District. Before retiring he last worked at Wappinger Junior High School.
He enjoyed many things like: photography, listening to music, marvel comics, plants. He was an avid sports fan, loved his Knicks and Cowboys.
On April 20, 2007 in Beacon, NY, he married Christina Lynn Buchman, who survives at home.
Along with his loving wife of 17-years, John is survived by his 4 sons & 1 daughter: Tomas Buchman, John E. Galloway Jr., Lyric Galloway, Jemond Galloway, Demetrius Galloway; his 4 grandchildren Daniella, Mylah, Kaia & Rhiza. He is also survived by his brother Steven Galloway and his wife Rashedah; his aunt Sylvia Jones his father-in-law John Deese; his sister-in-law Amanda Jackson, and several other aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of close friend; especially Chris D., Johnny and Chris Q..
Along with his mother, John was predeceased by his brother Edward Galloway.
His Family will gather with Friends on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 2-6pm at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a remembrance service will be offered at 5pm.
