John Esposito, 25, passed away peacefully in Long Beach, New York, on Sunday, December 28.
John was born on August 14, 2000, to his parents, Joe and Patti Esposito. He grew up in Somers, New York, and graduated from Somers High School in 2018. After high school, John made his home in Long Beach, where he lived until his passing.
John attended Manhattanville University, where he earned his business degree in 2023. He then went on to work at B&E Sports Collectibles while also starting his own business, Eye On The Ball Sports Collectibles, alongside his brother, Joey, reflecting both his lifelong love of sports and his entrepreneurial spirit.
At Somers High School, John was a proud member of the 2016 New York State Championship varsity football team, as well as the track and basketball teams, where he formed friendships and memories that stayed with him long after graduation. After graduating, John remained deeply connected to sports and to the community it created. He was a proud member of the New York Bombers, a blind beep baseball team, and continued to follow and celebrate sports in all forms, especially the New York Yankees and New York Giants. John was also a devoted WWE fan whose favorite wrestler was John Cena.
Beyond attending sporting events and WWE matches, John loved weightlifting, trying new diners, listening to music, attending concerts, and spending time with his friends and family. He found happiness in experiences, in making everyone laugh, and in the simple joy of sharing moments with the people he loved. John met the challenges life placed before him with determination, humor, and heart, and will forever remind us all that no matter what comes your way, you can overcome anything and be a champion.
John is survived by his loving parents, Joe and Patti; his beloved brothers, Joey and Michael; his devoted Uncle Jay; his father's longtime partner, Donna Mills, and her children, Jackie and Danny, and Kevin and Samantha; his grandmothers, Olivia Esposito and Joann Gambino; and his extended family, including his aunts Sue, Tracey, Christine, and Irene, and his uncle, Michael.
Visitation will be held at Ballard-Durand Funeral & Cremation Services in White Plains on Friday, January 2, from 3 PM to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, January 3, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows. In lieu of flowers, John's family asks that donations be made to The Snow Foundation in his memory, and thanks everyone for their love and support during this time.
