James Miley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Christopher T. Jordan Funeral Home on Mar. 18, 2026.
Funeral Mass Thursday March 19,2026 11:00am St. Mary of the Isle R.C. Church

James "Jim" Miley, 61, of Long Beach, NY, passed away on March 17, 2026. Born in Oceanside, NY, his passing on St. Patrick's Day carries a profound significance, as it falls on the same date his beloved sister, Bernadette, passed in 1999.

Jim will be remembered for his strength, his spirit, and the deep love he had for those around him. After enduring a tragic car accident in 1991, he faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience and determination, inspiring all who knew him.

Jim's knowledge of cars led to a successful career. He was known for being strong, dependable, and exceptionally sharp-minded, with a quick wit and a natural ability to solve problems. His impressive presence could fill a room, and he was someone people could always count on for help, guidance, or a listening ear.

Even while undergoing treatment, Jim continued to put others first-a true reflection of his selflessness and character.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Nancy and Gerry Miley, and by some of his siblings. He is survived by his sisters, Sarah and Nancy; his brothers, Stephen and Raymond; and many loving nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Jim's perseverance through personal struggles left a lasting impact on all who knew him, demonstrating that true courage and strength come from an unwavering commitment to persevere. His loss is deeply felt by all who loved him.

Jim's legacy is one of strength, resilience, and enduring love. He will be profoundly missed, and those who knew him will carry his strength forward in their hearts.

May he rest in eternal peace.
