Interment St Mary Star of The Sea

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mildred Amy Risolo, affectionately known as Tinchie from birth - a proud Irish-American matriarch who left this world at 88 years young, likely on her way to have a word with St. Peter about the condition of the pearly gates.

Born in 1937 to Irish parents, James and Josephine Traynor, Millie grew up in Rockaway Beach, New York, alongside her siblings Marie, Helen, Sonny, and Butchie - where rosary beads were always within reach and a good laugh even closer. Though American by birth, she remained spiritually head quartered somewhere between Island Park and Ireland. She graduated from college at age 53 and worked as a Buyer at Nassau Community College, though her true professional passion was real estate.

She shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, the late John Risolo Sr. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and at least one thermostat dispute each winter. Over 58 years of marriage, their home overflowed with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Millie's greatest joy was her family, and she delighted in offering unsolicited - yet usually correct - advice. To her, success was never measured in dollars, but in the fullness of her home.

Millie was a fiercely devoted mother to eight children: Coreen (Emilio), preceded by her daughter Jody, Linda, Jo-Ellen (Tony), Jeannie (Ray), Susan (George), John (Kristen), and Laura (Gerard). She was the proud grandmother to nineteen grandchildren and great-grandmother to nine.

In her final days, she was surrounded by her large, lively, and loving family. She will be forever missed.

Heaven has surely been warned to prepare for a bit of mischief, her Irish wit, the twinkle in her eye, and her radiant smile.

May her coffee be hot, her laughter light, and may she always have the last word.
