-Obituary lovingly written by the family of Dr. John William Evans.-
Dr. John W. Evans passed away peacefully December 12, 2024 in Cullman, Alabama at the age of 92. He was born December 2, 1932 in Neosho, Missouri, the second of four children of Henry Foster and Mary Louise Evans.
After graduating from Neosho High School he attended Drury College where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, and then the University of Missouri where he received the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
After a brief stint in the United States Army, he returned to Neosho where he practiced Veterinary Medicine for forty years as well as maintaining a commercial beef cattle and quarter horse operation. After retirement he moved to Springfield, Missouri and subsequently to Cullman, Alabama.
Besides his love of family and animals, he had a passion for dancing, particularly country western and western swing.
He is survived by his sister Marylou Love, his son Dr. J.W. (Bill) Evans, Jr. (Charmel), grandchildren Laura, John William III. (Halee), and Anna Evans, great grandchildren Everlee, Lynlee, and Rylee William Evans, nieces Carol, Susan, Elizabeth, Kathy, and Amy, and nephews Rob, Jack, Pete, and Greg.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 10:00AM at IOOF Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri.
