John Joseph Fabac, age 93, resident of Round Rock, TX since 1975, passed away on September 8, 2022 at Round Rock Hospital. He was born August 25, 1929 in Kansas City, KS to parents, Steve M. Fabac and Anna H. Stipetic.
John is survived by his wife – Retired Rev. Joan Fabac, his children – Evelyn McLean (Jim) and Karen Fabac, his grandchildren – Caitlin Greatting (Jesse) and Jessica Fabac, his great grandchildren – London Fabac and Tyler Greatting, his siblings – Steve Fabac, Evelyn Keopke, Philomena Fabac, Richard (Beth) Fabac, and Vicki (Tom) Murphy.
In September 1946, John enlisted in the Marine Corp and upon honorable discharge he joined the Navy Reserves. John earned his electrical engineering degree at the University of Kansas and upon graduation was hired by IBM in 1957 where he remained until his retirement in 1992.
John found an interest in aeronautics at age 16 years when he got his pilot's license and later built his own glider plane from a kit. Owning several planes throughout the years as a hobby, John used to like to take his daughters flying and taunt them with the occasional touch and go landings. Other hobbies included HAM radio operator, traveling and camping with his girls, league bowling, playing the mandolin, golfing, and singing in the Round Rock Community Choir to name a few.
Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lund Cemetery, Lund Carlson Road on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be a private ceremony for family and friends. Condolences may be left on the Beck Funeral Home website (beckchapels.com) and/or with a shot of your favorite libation celebrating John and his life well lived!
