John Christopher Flanigen was born December 17, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts to Edwin Gaw and Lucille Mae Flanigen. He was the youngest of five children. He passed away on January 1, 2024.
John served in the Air Force as a firefighter for a number of years and was stationed at many bases across the world. John was a jack of all trades and could figure out how to do just about anything. He was always ready and willing to help anyone and always had a smile on his face while doing it and a huge heart to share!
John is survived by his siblings, Mary (Mike) Smith, Sue Blakeley, Edwin Flanigen and Patrick (Ronnie) Flanigen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the staff in the ICU at Ogden Regional Medical Center for the compassionate care provided. Thank you to the organ donation team for helping us honor John's final wish to donate his organs. We would also like to thank the numerous friends for all of their love and support during this time.
There will be a celebration of life held Saturday January 6, 2024, hosted by Rick Bushman and Tina Billmire. This will be located at 3961 N 1000 W Pleasant View from 5pm to 10pm. Rick, Tina and the family welcome all that knew John to attend.
Since many of John's family are unable to attend there will be a second celebration of life this summer. The date is to be determined. Please stay in touch for the details
