John J. Fly, of Warsaw, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on September 3, 1948, in Indianapolis to Glenn and Suzanne Bolin Fly.

He grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from Washington High School in 1966 where he enjoyed being a member of the wrestling team. He spent several summers on Tippecanoe Lake where he and Sandy met. He attended Mankato State College in Minnesota before serving in the Army for two years. He then received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1974. He married Sandy Rufenbarger Fly on August 19, 1972. He worked at R.R. Donnelley and Sons for 29 years before retiring. He also previously worked in sales.

He was an avid fan of reading, history and political science, golf, IU and Notre Dame. He was also previously a tennis player and he and Sandy enjoyed playing at the Warsaw Racquet Club and Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. He also enjoyed assisting the boys on the Warsaw High School wrestling team. He and Sandy loved traveling.

John had three brothers, Steven (Sue) Fly of Bettendorf, Iowa, James (Joan) Fly of Temple Terrace, Florida, and Richard (Gail) Fly of Nicholas, Georgia. He also had 5 nieces, 5 nephews, 8 great nieces and 7 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, James.

Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of John. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 5:30 pm at the funeral home, 2000 Sheridan St. Warsaw. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison St. Warsaw at 11:00 am with the doors opening one hour prior. John will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial gifts are appreciated to Tunnels to Towers or Wounded Warriors. To leave a condolence or send flowers, please visit www.TitusFuneralHome.com
