John Fralick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home on Oct. 13, 2024.
John R. Fralick, a cherished and respected member of the Canton community, passed away on October 12, 2024, at the Foremost Care Center in Sharon. Born in Canton, Massachusetts, he led a life marked by dedication to his family, service to his community, and an unwavering spirit of friendliness.
John, a beloved husband, was predeceased by his loving wives, Joan (Skeans) Fralick and Patricia L. (DeReeno) Fralick. He was a devoted father to his children, Sheila Rivard of Sandwich, John R. Fralick Jr. of Woburn, Ronald Fralick of Rumney, NH, Mark Fralick of Taunton, and the late Deborah Healey. His legacy continues through his 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who will remember their grandfather with deep affection. John was the youngest of his siblings, and he was predeceased by all nine of them, a testament to a generation that has passed on but will never be forgotten.
John's early life in Canton laid the foundation for his strong community ties. He was a proud graduate of Canton High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships. Following his education, he committed himself to a career of public service, becoming a dedicated Canton Police Officer. His many years on the force earned him the respect and admiration of both his colleagues and the community he served. Even after his retirement, he remained an active member of the Canton Police Association, maintaining the bonds he had built over his years of service.
Beyond his professional life, John was a well-known figure at the Canton Senior Center, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and the various activities that kept him connected to his friends and neighbors. However, his greatest joy was found in the time he spent with his family. He was the quintessential family man, always present at gatherings, celebrations, and offering support whenever needed. The memories created during these times became the stories that his family will treasure and pass down through generations.
John was known for his friendly demeanor; he greeted everyone with a smile and was quick to lend a helping hand. His approachability and warmth made him a beloved figure in the community. The positive impact he left on those around him will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to John R. Fralick, we celebrate a life lived with honor, love, and a gentle kindness that touched the hearts of so many. His was a life that exemplified the values of family, service, and community - a life that left a lasting imprint on the town of Canton and everyone who called him friend, colleague, and family. John's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his journey.

John, thank you for your everlasting love loyal, compassion and friendship you shared with me and my family for all those years. I will forever hold all our times we had together especially when we would greet each other with a smile after the 4pm masses at St. Gerard´s. I always say to people, "To know you is to love you" and I loved you very much my friend!!! You were the first one who ever taught me the "Johnny Fralick Squint" that used to make people crazy at times but I didn´t care because I learned how to do it from someone i love very much and thats you my friend!!! Be sure to say hi to Charlie &Pauline when you get to heaven. I am sure they will be there to greet you with arms wide open. I will forever cherish all the times you would come to visit me at papa and nana´s house for coffee or tea and just chat the day away. You will always and forever be "The Wind Beneath My Wings!" Fly high and soar free, your loving spirit will be me always and your entire family wherever they may be.
Love hugs and prayers to all,
Nicole Gowe
