John Henry Freeman also know as "Henry" was born April 4, 1949 in Anderson, SC to the late Frank L. Freeman and Ethel Porter Freeman.
John was the tenth of thirteen children. John graduated from Riverside high school in Pendleton, SC in the fall of 1968. He later was drafted that same year in the United States Army where he also faught in Vietnam. John worked and retired from Clemson University. He enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family and best friend Mike Curry.
John leaves behind his legacy and to cherish his memory: his three children, John H. Freeman Jr(Valarie Freeman) of Pendleton, SC, Queshan Freeman Britt(Malissa Britt) of Greer, SC and Antonio Freeman of Seneca, SC. His grandchildren, Jareikus, Quin, Juwan, Bryson, Kathyrn, Jacoby, Emerald, Solè and Malcolm; Great grandchildren, Dream, Royalty and Rosier; A significant other of 27 years Rhonda Knighten; Stepchildren, Terrance and Undray Knighten; Two Sisters, Gussie Pinson and Frances Fowler (Darryl); Brother, Charles Freeman(Susie Freeman) and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ethel Freeman; Daughter, Ronesha Freeman; Brothers, Frank Jr, Willie, Joe, Lewis, Nathaniel and R.B. Freeman; Sisters, Henrietta Reese, Eva Mae Freeman Walker and Catherine Richardson.
The family is at 412 Sarrar Street, Pendleton, SC 29670.
Service for Mr. Freeman will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Silver Springs Baptist, Pendleton, SC.
Public Viewing: Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the mortuary.
