John Graham Gardner, Jr. 82 of Georgetown, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. He was born June 6, 1943, in Sumter, South Carolina, son of the late, John Graham Gardner, Sr. and Gertrude Graham Gardner.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Julia Phillips Gardner.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Robinson of Georgetown, SC; three children, Allyson Suzanne Gardner of Columbia, SC, Carolyn Gardner Schultz and her husband, Robert of Greenville, SC, John Graham Gardner, III. and his wife, Kimberly of Lexington, SC; six grandchildren, John Wallace Schultz, Anna Rush Schultz, Reidy Gardner Schultz, Lillian Jeannine Gardner, John Graham Gardner, IV., Liam Berry; sister, Lois Geddings of Turbeville, SC; step daughter, Elizabeth Hale Seibert of Columbia, SC and step son, Michael Berry of Florence, SC; many extended family members including his beloved first wife, Carolyn Rush Splittgerber.

John graduated from East Clarendon High School in Turbeville, SC. After high school he attended The Citadel, where he graduated in 1965 with a BS in Mathematics. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1965-1971, where he reached the rank of Captain.

He began his career in Charleston with American Mutual Fire Insurance Company as an underwriter. He continued his insurance career as an agent with HUB International, as Vice President.

A celebration of John's life will be held 3:00pm Sunday, December 21, 2025 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church 170 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
