John Garrish

We are saddened to announce the passing of John Garrish on February 28, 2025, in Marianna, Florida. Born and raised in Marianna, he was the son of Nick John and Hartie Lee Garrish and spent his life dedicated to family and hard work. John was known as a handyman, always willing to help others. He had a talent for working on small motors and spent much of his time fixing things. He enjoyed fishing and camping, appreciating the outdoors. John was preceded in death by his wife, Joenell Foster Garrish, his brothers, George and Jimmy Garrish, and his sisters, Mary Adkins and Nancy Garrish. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Garrish and Jim of Marianna, Florida and his son, Timothy Wayne Garrish and Don of Lanett, Alabama. He was a grandfather to five grandchildren, a great-grandfather to 18 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren and loved by a host of nieces and nephews. His family was the most important part of his life. Funeral services will be held on March 5, 2025, at Pinnacle Church in Marianna, FL, with Pastor Tracy Boggs officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM followed by the service at 3:00 PM. Interment will be at Hickory Level Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
