It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of RosaLee Taber Garrish on October 14, 2024. Born on August 27, 1940, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Vernon and Leora Taber, Rosie lived a life full of strength, loyalty, and a deep connection to her family. When her family moved to California during her high school years, her devoted boyfriend, David Garrish, couldn't bear to be apart from her, convincing his own family to relocate so they could remain together. They married on September 25, 1959, and shared a long, beautiful life together before David's untimely passing in 1996. During their marriage, they raised three daughters: Shirly (Robert) Lund, Patty (Blaine) Brown, and the late Teresa Garrish.
Rosie was fiercely proud of her strong family ties, cherishing every holiday and family gathering, always dressed to the nines and celebrating life's special moments with her loved ones. She spoke her truth unapologetically and was a strong woman who stood firmly by those she cared about most.
She was known to our family as a loving wife, sister, mom, grandma and fondly called RoRo. Rosie's love and influence extended to her eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of strength, family pride, and resilience.
While her absence will be felt deeply, we find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved David, her daughter Teresa, and many other dear friends and family members. No doubt they are together once again, celebrating a long-awaited reunion.
Per Rosie's request, there will be no formal services. Her strength, spirit, and love for family will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be profoundly missed.
