EAST BROOKFIELD: John A. Gauthier,62, of East Brookfield, died Saturday, Oct. 12th in UMASS Memorial - University Campus, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Christine A. (Rusell) Gauthier, his sons; John B. Gauthier and his wife Amanda of Barre and Eric J. Gauthier and his wife Alysha of Worcester, his mother; Patricia (Cote) Kirk of Spencer, his grandchildren; Tyler and Lukas Gauthier. He also leaves his brothers; Michael Gauthier and his wife Hannah of No.Brookfield and Jeff Derosier of Spencer, his sisters; Wanita Letendre and her husband Larry of Brookfield, Laurie Lamoureux of E.Brookfield, Wendy Gauthier of Spencer and Kim Brown and her husband Adam of No.Brookfield, many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his good friends; Dave Hayden and Dick Buxton who were always there when he needed help after losing his vision, and his cousin Denis Jette from Florida who he was very close to.
John was a longtime self-employed welder and more recently worked for Borggaard Construction in No. Grafton, retiring in 2015.
He was born in Worcester the son of the late Arthur Gauthier and later graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School in Worcester, Class of 1980.
John enjoyed working on his Coronet, camping, fishing, listening to music and his love of the Pittsburg Steelers.
A Funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 18th. at 11 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, East Brookfield. A visitation period from 9:30 to 11 a.m. will precede the funeral service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
