John Joseph Geheran, 84, of Southborough died on Friday, January 3, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife Christa (Bellinger) Geheran. He also leaves his children, Christina Higgins and her husband David of Framingham, Michael Geheran of Newburgh, New York, and Timothy Geheran and his wife Emily Blessing of Acton; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Thomas Geheran of Long Island; and a sister, Mary Beck of Long Island. He was born the eldest son of James and Belinda (O'Hara) Geheran in New York, New York.
John grew up on Long Island, New York and graduated from Cathedral College High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1960 and deployed to West Germany, where he met his wife, Christa. After a brief stint stateside, John left the military and returned to Germany to be with Christa. He also founded BrandEx, a company that imported and distributed consumer electronics for U.S. military personnel serving overseas. When BrandEx merged with Bose Corporation in 1976, John moved his family to the United States, settling in Sudbury, Massachusetts. He worked at Bose nearly thirty years, retiring in 2005 as Vice-President of the Americas Sales Operation. His character, work ethic, humility, and generosity brought him professional success and left a lasting impression on his colleagues, friends, and customers.
John achieved considerable success professionally, but he will be best remembered as an endearing husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather. He loved spending his time with family and strove to be involved in his children's and grandchildren's lives. Among other things, John was into sailing, gardening, and occasionally riding Harleys. He was also a military aviation buff and loved movies, a passion that translated into countless viewings of the opening scene of Top Gun at full volume through his Bose sound system. John was especially fond of family dinner trivia, board games, his dogs, and Ronald Reagan. Above all, he loved being a grandfather. He was always sharing photos and videos of his grandchildren as they were growing up, always beaming and very proud. The joy he expressed when speaking about his wife, kids, and grandchildren was infectious. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Private services will be held to honor John's memory. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. https://www.michaeljfox.org/

I'm sad to learn of John's passing. I'm honored to have known and worked for John at Brandex & Bose in Frankfurt and at Bose in Framingham. He was an inspiration ... positive, encouraging, fair and kind. We stayed in touch over the years. He loved his family deeply and always spoke with pride about them. Christa, my heart goes out to you. Love & hugs, Jody Keller (Grawey)
