William Thomas "Bill" Smith, 76, of Hill Street, Keeseville, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at his home.

He was born in Southborough, Massachusetts, January 12, 1950, the son of Scott and Margaret (Crocket) Smith.

Bill grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in June of 1969. In November of that same year, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly aboard the USS La Salle in Bahrain and Vietnam, until his honorable discharge.

Bill worked for 39 years with the engineering dept. at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He most predominantly handled the boiler systems.

Bill loved attending car shows, and working on classic cars with his son and grandson.

Left to cherish the memory of Bill are, his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara (Rosio) Smith, whom he married June 11, 1977 at Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks; his children, Tammy (Kyle) Young, and Jason (Jessica) Smith; beloved grandchildren, Makayla and Logan Young; brothers, Robert (Beth) Smith, and Bradley (Brenda) Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Scott Smith; and parents-in-law, Edward and Elizabeth (Seguin) Rosio.

Services will be private and at the convenience of his family.

Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 518-643-9055.
