John Andrew George, 69, a resident of
Corpus Christi, Texas, and native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, made his way to his heavenly home on October 14, 2025. He was born on April 9, 1956, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, to Albert and Lucy "Terri" George.
He was a loving and proud father to his greatest accomplishments, his daughters Tara (George) Carter and Alexandria George.
Dad was deeply spiritual, very hard-working and passionate about things that mattered to him. He spent 20+ years working shift work at Agrico and Mosaic fertilizer plants along the Mississippi River, where he was known for his strong work ethic, acting as a mentor to his younger coworkers, and his delicious home cooking for his shift mates.
Dad lit up every room that he entered and had a young-at-heart quality. He was a one of a kind, larger than life man of generosity, spunkiness, and patriotism. One of his big bear hugs could make even the darkest day brighter.
Dad's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He loved to fish, cared deeply about his country, made the BEST boiled seafood for his family and friends, and embraced the heck out of retired life living on the Texas coast with a glass of organic pinot noir in his hand. Throughout his time in Corpus Christi Dad enjoyed driving his golf cart along the beach watching the sunrise and sunset, volunteering with his church family, being the President of his condo's HOA board, and trying out new restaurants. He especially loved whenever his kids and grandkids came to visit him on the island. His family was his greatest joy.
Waiting to embrace Dad when he arrived in Heaven were his parents, and his beloved brothers Donald and Jerry George.
Left to honor his memory are his daughters Tara (Dustin) and Alex (Skyeleigh), grandchildren Georgia and Dalton Carter, brothers Al and Peter George, sister Marian Bolen, as well as many nieces and extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held in New Orleans in January of 2026, with details to be shared at a later date.
Although Dad's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to comfort us.
Time has stopped for us Dad, but you are forever living on island time. Rest well with the angels. You are the sunset.
