John Theodore Ginocchio, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on August 14, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on February 11, 1948, in Long Island, New York, to John L. and Annabelle Ginocchio.

Throughout his remarkable 35-year career as a biomedical technician, John made significant contributions to healthcare and developed enduring friendships, cherishing the camaraderie found within his profession. His involvement in the US Army further exemplified his commitment to service and dedication to his country.

John was known for his spirited personality; he was a jokester who delighted in bringing laughter to those around him. He had a unique ability to push the envelope, which made him a vibrant presence in the lives of family and friends. He cherished moments spent going out to eat with friends, watching movies, and attending his numerous grandchildren's sporting events, where his pride and joy could be seen in every cheer and clap.

Among his proudest accomplishments was his role with the Lunar Module Team at Grumman Aerospace Corporation. This dedicated group of engineers, designers, and technicians played a crucial part in designing, building, and testing the Apollo Lunar Module, the spacecraft responsible for landing astronauts on the Moon and safely returning them to lunar orbit, a feat that marked a monumental achievement in human exploration.

John is survived by his loving wife, Alicia Ginocchio, and his cherished children: Al Acevedo, Karry (David) Erwin, Angel (Robert) Trudeau, Melanie (Mike) Dunlap, Jeannine (Eric) Cabot, and Lorilee (Kevin) Schylaske. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings: Ted Ginocchio, Debra Pititto, and Sheree (John) Adkins. John also took great pride in being a grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to one, nurturing familial bonds that he valued deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Annabelle Ginocchio, and his sister, Annabelle "Cookie" Panico.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Quinn Shalz Funeral Home, located at 3600 3rd St S, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
