He was a fifth-generation shoe repair man passed down from his daddy. In the 1980s John and Martha had a shoe repair school in Murfreesboro, where he taught folks the trade. John was never afraid to take a chance on a new unknown adventure with Martha and the girls right by his side the whole time. A few of the occupations he held throughout his life were a bus driver in Chicago in the sixtys, police officer in Huntland in the sixtys, shoe repair man, truck driver, dry cleaner manager, production worker and Wal-Mart associate. John always had a smile and those huge blue eyes to great you with. He was always ready to give someone a hand up or help them in any way possible. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed vacations and driving his big trucks out west. A few of his favorite places where Texas, Mexico, Arizona, and California. In his later years he spent his time watching the western channel and the shows him and Martha enjoyed together.Even though dementia took its toll on John, he never forgot his family and how much he loved them. John passed 12 days after losing his beloved daughter Lisa, he knew she needed him more in heaven than the rest of his family did here on this earth. Another example of his loving and caring spirit. In lieu of flowers, please donate to -The Coffee County Humane Societycoffeehumane.orgOn the website they have a Wish List of items than can be purchased from Amazon or Chewy.com if you would like to do that.PO Box 252Manchester, TN 37355-0903931-723-2730Coffee County Animal Control156 Freedom Dr.Manchester, TN 37355It can be mailed to the address abovedropped at our office-the office is the back door of the shelter.
