John Glaze Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Dec. 8, 2025.
John David Glaze, 64, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025. He was born on April 25, 1961, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Ed and Margie Glaze, one of the youngest of six children. From an early age, John's life was marked by compassion, and a steadfast faith that guided him throughout his journey.

He attended Mt. Zion Bible School, graduating in 1979. During his high school years, he worked as a veterinary technician at Hinds Veterinary Hospital, a job that reflected his gentle spirit and love for helping others. He later earned his associate's degree in business, graduating from KCC in 1982.

After college, John spent four years in Denver, Colorado, working for a sheet metal contractor. He then moved to Olathe, Kansas, where he began a long and successful career in information technology with FIS for 25 years. Eventually, he relocated to Ozark, Missouri, continuing his IT work and building a life rooted in community, faith, and friendship.

John was a passionate sports enthusiast. He loved cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, but his heart always held a special place for Ole Miss. His enthusiasm for his teams was only surpassed by his devotion to his Christian faith. He faithfully attended church everywhere he lived and found great joy in sharing God's word with children, especially through puppet ministry, an outreach that combined his creativity, humor, and love for teaching.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Margie Glaze; his sister, Caralynn Pugh; her husband, Garald; their son, Joey Pugh; and his brother-in-law, Gilbert Scott.

He is survived by his sisters, Edie Scott, Mary Galligher and her husband Mike, and Nancy Sims and her husband OJ; his brother, Tommy Glaze; and a host of nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward with love.

A service will be held for John on December 10 th at 10:30 am at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

John will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering faith, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. He touched many with his sincerity and his desire to serve.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Mt. Zion Bible School in Ava, Mo.
