John Franklin Glover, 85, of Amagon, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Grubbs, Arkansas on September 23, 1939, to George W. and Lizzie (Bayless) Glover.
He was a rice farmer for most of his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, watching the squirrels off the porch and taking care of his goats. All day long he would watch old westerns. He loved his grandkids and family and enjoyed every moment with them. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was greeted in heaven by his wife, Mary; his parents; sisters, Minia Neal and Joella Goodman; 2 great great-grandchildren; stepson, Kevin Wingate; mother of his children, Margaret and her husband, Franklin Seals.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Johnny Glover of Amagon, AR, Janet Mahan (Edward) of Grubbs, AR, Thressa Bowen (Jimmy) of Weiner, AR, Karen Mercer of Weiner, AR, Bill Vickers; brother, Martin Glover; sister, Polly Magness; stepchildren, Earl Wingate, James Wingate, John Wingate, Patty Colburn, Carolyn Guyton and Linda West; grandchildren, Emma and Shooter Bowen, Jonathon (Cherry) Bowen, Jimmy "Bo" Bowen, Brandon Bowen, Edd Mahan (Shannon), Becky Adams (Matt), John Murphy (Tracy), Tara Murphy, Justin Glover (Shamika), George Glover (Andrea); many great and great-great grandchildren; his fur baby, CJ.
Funeral Service will be at Jesus Is Lord Church, 501 Redman Lane, Jacksonport, on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:30pm. Visitation will precede beginning at 12:30pm. Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery in Grubbs.
Arrangements were entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Bradford.
