John Gloyd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walnut Lawn Funeral Home - Springfield on Oct. 1, 2025.
John Thomas Gloyd, 48, of Rogersville, Missouri, passed away on September 5, 2025. Born on January 4, 1977, in Springfield, Missouri, John spent his life in the Ozarks region he called home.
John was a devoted father and family man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He is lovingly remembered by his fiancé, Kasi; his four children: Cheyenne Gloyd, Lillie Gloyd and her spouse McKayla Carlton, Rylee Gloyd, and Kelce Gloyd; and his three cherished grandchildren: Aubrey Godsey, Dayvion Godsey, and Liam Godsey. His love for his children and grandchildren was a guiding force throughout his life.
He is also survived by his father John Gloyd and stepmother Teresa Gloyd; stepfather Danny Turner; three sisters: Ruthie Kelley and her spouse Josh Kelley, Danielle Turner and her spouse Stevie Morrison, Jordan Brower and her spouse Dan Brower; two brothers: Matthew Turner and his spouse Siscillea Motley, and Michael Turner and his spouse Tonya Treat. John leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
John was preceded in death by his mother Sharen Turner; grandparents Lee and Donna Stacy; grandparents Elmer and Agnes Gloyd; as well as several beloved aunts and uncles: Harmon Gloyd, Bessie Gloyd, Hazel Gloyd, Gordan Gloyd, and Mary Gloyd.
A man of many interests, John had a deep passion for the Kansas City Chiefs and NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing on quiet days and had a lifelong fascination with model cars and planes. Music was another constant in his life-especially the powerful sounds of Metallica that often filled the air around him.
John's memory will live on through the stories shared among those who knew him best-his laughter at family gatherings, his enthusiasm during game day celebrations, or the peaceful moments spent casting a line into still waters.
May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
