John Goehring, age 92, a former resident of Valders was called to eternal rest Sunday, September 28, 2025.

John was born on February 10, 1933, to the late Edward Sr. and Clara (Ebert) Goehring. He attended Clarks Mills grade school and was a graduate of Valders High School. On September 12, 1959, John married the love of his life Esther Binversie. Esther preceded him in death on April 5, 2016. In earlier years, he worked for Radantz and Bar Construction. Later, he and his wife owned and operated Goehring's Bar for 8 years; then owned and operated Val-View Acres Dairy Farm for 22 years, as well as 15 years of harness racing. After retirement, John drove bus for Valders Buses, served on the Village Board and worked at the Valders Recycling Center. His hobbies included harness racing, playing Sheepshead and Cribbage, and watching sports whether it was high school, Badgers, Packers, or Brewers. John also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino. He was known to drink a few beers and have a few shots of Guckenheimer while telling a few stories.

John whole heartedly loved and supported his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, even when they teased him about spilling on his shirt when he ate, with him joking, "That's ok it's going in the wash anyway." He was a friend to most everyone he met. John also cherished the memories he made with his deer hunting group.

Survivors include his three daughters and two sons-in-law: Kim and Tom Alfson, Valders, Connie and Marcus Bartelme, Valders, Kathy Meisner, Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law: Brian and Kelly Goehring, Newton; eight grandchildren: Lane (Kimberly) Alfson, Ryan Alfson, Dana (Jared) Good, Brandon (Callie) Meisner, Ashley (Aaron) Cherney, Brooke (Chris) Lanham, Austin (Samantha) Goehring, Nathan Goehring; eleven great-grandchildren: Alexis, Abigail, Taylor, Genevieve, Charlotte, Griffin, Marissa, Oakley, Hawke, Rockie, Navy, and Baby Cherney, on the way; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Carol (Ruth) Goehring, Clarks Mills, and Carl (Doris) Goehring, Cato; one sister: Nancy Cherney, Howards Grove; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward Sr. and Clara; wife: Esther Goehring; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Edward Jr. (Kathrine) Goehring, Kermit Goehring; one brother-in-law: Dale Cherney; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law all on his wife's side; several nieces and nephews on both sides.

Whenever we asked our father how he was doing, he would say 100%. So, 100% you will go to Heaven dad and 100% we will see you again someday. You are loved and will be missed.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 15 County Rd J, Reedsville. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. To all that knew John, the world is a lonelier place without him. To his family, I am confident all of you have many amazing shared memories of time spent with him, and will find comfort in all he has added to your lives. I hold him in the highest regard for giving the best of himself to those around him.
"Jack" was an important part of the Valders Wrestling Program as team bus driver and impromptu coach for our athletes at various times. He had high expectations, supported, and believed in our athletes as if they were his own family. There were many times over many seasons Jack was needed to step in mat side to support our athletes when we had more wrestlers than coaches available to be mat side. He was an amazing coach in victory and defeat, and the wrestlers loved and respected him as I did.
The wrestler´s often reminded him, he was probably the winningest bus driver/coach in the history of Valders Wrestling; he would laugh, and I would remind him they were right. He supported our Valders athletes in ways that made us better and represented the greater community of Valders School District in the most positive ways. His optimism was contagious and an asset for all who had the privilege to know him.
I am grateful for all he has done to enrich the lives of the athletes he worked with. His time with them has had a positive impact on their lives. I was blessed to have had the privilege to call Jack my friend.

Please accepted my deepest sympathy for the loss of father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and close friend. I believe he has left the best of him with us.
Sincerely,
Rod Figueroa
