Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center on Dec. 30, 2024.
John William Grau, 96, of Delaware passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, December 27, 2024 at his residence with his loving son by his side.
He was born July 26, 1928 in Delaware County to the late Ralph Eugene and Hazel (Spencer) Grau and graduated from Kilbourne High School. He then proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 6, 1951, he married the love of his life Alice Graham. Together they celebrated 73 years of marriage. Sadly, Alice passed away early this year on May 6, 2024.
John was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Delaware. He loved life and in his early years was an avid bowler. He enjoyed looking at cars and cheering on his beloved OSU basketball and football teams.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Bruce Grau of Delaware; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and loving wife Alice, he was also preceded in death by his sisters-in-law Irene Price and Margie Nicol and his brothers-in-law Chuck, Gerald, Ronald, and Calvin Graham.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
