John Joseph Greger (1947-2026)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Joseph Greger, who departed this life peacefully on February 9, 2026 at the age of 78. John was born on April 8, 1947 in Newark, NJ to John & Mary Greger.

John is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Linda, his children: Kimberly and husband Scott of Monroe Township, NJ, Michelle and husband JR of Pawleys Island, SC, and Renee and husband Troy of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was also a proud grandfather to: Justin, Cali, Emmi, Danica, Jaden, Aubrey, Mia, and Eli. John was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Mary Greger and his sister, Linda Sirois. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.

John was an exceptionally skilled tradesman, having founded J.J.G. Enterprises and specializing in the HVAC industry where he grew his company until selling it in 2005 and retiring in Myrtle Beach, SC. With a meticulous nature for doing things the right way, he enjoyed applying his knowledge of a variety of skills. Even into the years when his physical ailments would no longer accommodate his passion for using his hands, John's determination exemplified a strength of character and identity to be admired. John was known as a generous, kind, and thoughtful man whose sharp wit and personable nature resonated with everyone he met, having never met a person he couldn't talk to. His dedication to family and friends is forever solidified in the memories shared since his passing by the people that knew him. John's legacy is one of family, dedication, and character that will be painfully missed and never forgotten.
