Longtime Fairbanks resident John Gregor, 70, passed away on September 22, 2025, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, with his wife and children at his side.

He is survived by his wife, Katie; his children, Charlie (and Veronica), Riley, Annie, and Kelly Gregor; his sister, Bonnie Corley; many cousins across the country; and his beloved dog, Rosie.

John was born on April 7, 1955, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to Anna and Edwin Gregor. When he was five, his family moved to Florida. On September 1, 1976, John relocated to Fairbanks, Alaska, where he lived for 49 years. He met his wife, Katie, in 1986, and they were married in 2000. After 33 years of service, he retired from the State of Alaska.

John was a man of integrity, strength, and adventure. He embraced life fully-fishing, hunting, flying, and exploring Alaska's wilderness with his family. A skilled builder and creative problem-solver, he brought precision and purpose to everything he did. He taught his family not only how to swim, ski, sail, surf, and off-road, but how to do so safely and responsibly. Known for his honesty, hard work, and his deep love for family and friends, he made a lasting impression on the lives he touched.

A memorial service celebrating John's life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Journey Christian Church, 1201 Hoselton Road, Fairbanks, Alaska. Family and friends are invited to share memories and honor a life well lived.
