John Gulbin Obituary

John Joseph Gulbin, 59, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in his home due to sudden heart failure. John was born Feb. 24, 1964, and lived in the Pittsburgh area before moving away to attend college. John graduated from Canevin High School in 1982, where he was a member of the wrestling team and participated in the theater program. He then attended The University of Dayton in Ohio and graduated in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. After college, John relocated to Bucks County, Pa., and continued his career in the construction industry, spending close to 40 years in construction and project management. John enjoyed meeting new people and could hold a conversation for hours with almost anyone. He considered strangers as friends, and his friends as family. John enjoyed political discussions, gardening, true crime documentaries, keeping up with the news and spending time with his friends and family. He had a strong sweet tooth and enjoyed sharing his favorite treats with those in his life. John was preceded in death by his father, Edward (Jayne) Gulbin. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Gulbin, mother, Jacqueline Gulbin, siblings, Lori Gulbin, Valarie (Tom) Dillis, Sean Gulbin, Jason Gulbin and Jayne-Ann Gulbin-Lager, several nieces and nephews, and former wife, Denise (Mariano) Gulbin. There will be a small service held for close friends and family members on a later date. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh, 212 Ninth St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222. www.ccpgh.org., or to a charity of your choice.
