John Guth, 85, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in Fairlawn, Ohio. Born on May 4, 1940, in Kent, Ohio, he lived a full and vibrant life rooted in his love for the outdoors and deep connections with family and friends.

John attended Kent Roosevelt High School and continued his education at Hower Trade School and later at Maplewood Area Joint Vocational School, laying the foundation for a life marked by hard work and practical skill.

A true outdoorsman at heart, John found joy in fishing, hunting, canoeing, and riding motorcycles. Whether casting a line into a quiet lake or cruising down winding roads on two wheels, he embraced nature with enthusiasm and reverence. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his warmth and humor—he was known for telling jokes that brought laughter to any room, sharing stories that captivated listeners, and offering advice that came from a place of wisdom and care.

John’s presence was comforting and strong. His supportive embraces were legendary among those who knew him well—steady reminders of his unwavering love. His infectious smile and laugh left lasting impressions wherever he went.

John cherished time spent with his family above all else. He is lovingly survived by his three children, Dawn, Renee (Jack), and Eric. He was a beloved “Grandpa” to his grandchildren, Amber, Austin, Robbie, Reece, Cameron, Chloe, Abby, and Gino, and a proud great-grandfather to Maddie and Ronan. Though he is no longer with his family in body, the memories they shared will continue to bring comfort and strength.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Jeannette and Edward Guth.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to The Village of Saint Edward in Fairlawn, Affinity Care of Ohio, and Centerwell Home Health Care for their compassionate support.

May John’s memory live on through the stories told around campfires, the laughter shared among loved ones, and the peaceful moments found in nature’s embrace.

A celebration of life will take place in the spring of 2026.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home.
